About Delores:

DeloresDelores grew up in Washington and Oregon but also spent many years in western Canada. Grade school teachers first encouraged her writing gifts. She appreciated their help and loves to pass it on by encouraging others. Delores earned college and graduate degrees assisted by scholarships. For many summers she worked for the Forest Service in both the U.S. and Canada. She enjoys wild life, makes porcupine quill jewelry, and gives convincing moose calls. Her home is now in Minnesota.

Today Delores is a teacher, speaker, freelance writer, editor and publisher with over 200 publications. Her writings are found in Aglow, Angels on Earth, (The Christian Reader) Today’s Christian, Family Life Today, Prayer Journal, the Journal of English Linguistics, the Tamarack, the Minnesota Christian Chronicle, various newsletters, and several compilation books. She served as Publications Secretary for the 140 member Minnesota Christian Writers Guild for four years and Seminar Director for two. She teaches at Maranatha and Northwestern Colleges in the Twin Cities, and holds seminars in churches and for other groups. In addition to Creative Design Services, a consulting entrepreneurial business offering editing and ghostwriting for those preparing their own materials for publication, she recently founded TrueNorth Publishing: A Friend to Writers. www.truenorthpublishingdt.com

Besides her true 2007 children’s book, Whoosh, her rhymed beautifully illustrated children's adventure, Little Big Chief: The Bear Hunt, appeared in late 2009. Her first novel is receiving serious consideration from a major national agency, and she is writing a sequel.

Besides writing and teaching, Delores loves speaking and traveling. In 1980, she spent 3 ½ months assisting missions in South America. In 2008, she spent nearly 3 weeks in the Philippines on a mission’s trip. In Jan. 2009 she led her 4th group to Israel and hopes to join a mission trip to Haiti in 2010.

Her two sons are local physicians and she has five grandchildren, and a grandpuppy.
